C. to s. Central America;
Ca. three populations;
(1) S. Mexico (se. Veracruz in the Sierra de Tuxtla).
(2) Highlands of se. Mexico s. from Oaxaca in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras to nc. Nicaragua.
(3) Highlands of Costa Rica and w. Panama.
