Range

Sahel zone from w. to ec. Africa;
Fragmented distribution in the e. part of its range;
(1) Senegambia, s. Mauritania, s. Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, n. Nigeria, n. Cameroon, Central African Republic, and Chad.
(2) Nw. Sudan.
(3) Highlands of c. Kenya and ne. Tanzania.
