Africa s. of the Sahara from s. Mauritania, Senegambia, Guinea e. in s. Mali, s. Niger, c. Chad, c. Sudan to Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti and Somalia, and s. to s. South Africa including Fernando Po, Pemba Is., and Zanzibar Is., Madagascar, Aldabra, Assumption Is., and Comoro Is.
