Canada from wc. to sw. Mackenzie, ne. British Columbia, n. and c. Alberta to Newfoundland s. in the United States to e. Montana sw. South Dakota, c. Nebraska, c. Kansas, sc. And s. Texas, c. Gulf States to c. South Carolina. Isolated population in sw. United States (c. Arizona).
Winters s. to the West Indies and from Mexico to Ecuador and Peru.
