Range
Australasian region and Wallacea;
Fragmented distribtuion;
(1) Nw. Australia (nw. Western Australia and n. Northern Territory).
(2) Australia (sw., w. and nw. Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria to sw. South Australia) and Tasmania, Norfolk Is., Lord Howe Is., New Caledonia (Noumea Racecourse), Loyalty Is. (Lifu), coastal New Zealand (North and South Islands since 1940), Waiheke and Great Mercury Is. and s. New Guinea (mostly in the s., Balim Valley).
This species has been recorded from the Aru and Kai Is., the Moluccas to the n. Sulawesi and the Lesser Sundas (Timor, Flores, Roti, Lombok and Bali on Nusa Penida Is.) and Chatham Is.
