Sw. Australia; Se. Australia;
Two populations;
Sw. and s. Western Australia mostly s. of a line from Perth (Rottnest Is., Moora, Lake Monger and Lake Herdsman) to Esperance (Israelite Bay), occasionally n. to North West Cape. In e. Australia, it occurs from ex. sw. and se. Queensland n. to Rockhampton, Fraser, Moreton and also North Stradbroke Is. and Lake Bindegolly s. to New South Wales (Lake Bathurst and Leeton Swamp, Murray-Darling River Basin), Victoria (mostly in n. and sw., Werribee Sewage Works) and e. South Australia (Lake Eyre, Eyre Peninsula n. to Cooper Creek and the Diamantina River and w. to Fowlers including Bay ICI Saltworks and Bool Lagoon) including Kangaroo, King and Flinders Is. and Tasmania (mostly in e.).
