Honduras (Lake Yojoa), nw. Costa Rica (Tempisque Basin), e. Panama (La Jagua marshes, Darien), n. Colombia (Caribbean coast from Sinu Valley to w. base of the Santa Marta Mt., Cauca Valley to lower Magdalena Valley, Cundinamarca, s. Boyaca, Arauca, w. Meta), Ecuador to nw. Peru and in n. Venezuela (Zulia, Tachira, Portuguesa, Apure, Guarico, Aragua), Trinidad, Guyana, Surinam, Guiana, c. and e. Brazil (Bahia, Para s. and w. to the Mato Grosso) to e. Ecuador and e. Chad, c. Central African Republic and s. and se. Sudan to Ethiopia and nw. and s. Somalia, s. to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, e. and s.
