S. half of e. Siberia from upper Yenisei River and Angara Basin e. to Kamchatka s. to Tuva, Lake Baikal, n. and e. Mongolia, ne. China (Manchuria), the Soviet Far East (Amur River, Ussuriland), Sakhalin Is., Kuril Is. and n. Japan (Hokkiado).
Winters in lowlands of e. Asia from Japan, Honshu s. in Korea, e. and c. China (Shantung s. to Hainan Is. and w. to s. Shensi, s. Szechwan and se. Tibet) and Taiwan s. to c. North Vietnam, Loas, se. Burma, ne. India (Assam, Manipur), Nepal (Kosi River) and perhaps Iran.
