(1) S. Sudan (upper Blue Nile), Ethiopia (Lake Region), n. Uganda, nw. and sw. Somalia, n. Kenya.
(2) W. and s. Kenya (c. and w. Kenya highlands and Rift Valley lakes, Ngorongoro Crater) to Angola s. of the Congo Basin to Cameroon (rarely), e. and s. Zaire, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Zambia, s. Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Malawi, s. Mozambique and South Africa (Transvaal, Swaziland, Natal, Orange Free State, Lesotho and Cape Province).
