Range
Palearctic;
(1) Europe (British Iles, France, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Byelorussia) e. to Turkey, Iran, c. Russia (upper Volga River, Transcaucasus, upper Irtysh Rivers, upper Ob River), Turkestan, Pakistan (Baluchistan) and sw. Siberia.
Winters s. to ne. Africa (Kenya from Lake Turkana and c. highlands to Tsavo National Park) and the Middle East.
(2) Corsica and Sardinia.
(3) Nw. Africa from Morocco to Tunisia.
(4) Madeira and Canary Is.
(5) N. Iran to ne. China (Manchuria, Heilungkiang to Liaoning), Anadyrland, Kamchatka Peninsula, Kuril Is., Korea and Japan (c. Honshu).
Winters s. to Taiwan, India, Sri Lanka and Indochina.
(6) Himalayas of n. India (Kashmir e. to Arunachal Pradesh and e. Assam) and mountains of s. Tibet and c. China (nw. Kansu, Tsinghai, w. Szechwan, Hopeh and possibly n. Yunnan).
Winters s. to s. Asia and the Greater Sundas.
