Siberia (Novaya Zemlya) to the Chukotski Peninsula and s. along the Baltic coast of Poland, (Karsiborska Kepa in the mouth of the Swina River), Hungary (Hortobagy National Park), w. Slovakia (Senne), Belarus, Turkey, n. Iran, sw. and c. Russia to Caspian Sea region, n. Kazakhstan, n. Turkestan and Lake Balkhash, Mongolia, ne. China (Heilungkiang and formerly the lower Yangtze River), se. Siberia (Ussuriland, Salhalin Is.), Kuril Is., and n. Japan (Chitose River, Lake Utonai, Kushiro and Akkeshi-ko Benkanbeushi Marshes, Hokkaido).
Winters s. to n. Mediterranean region, Persian Gulf, Pakistan, n. India and s. China.
Formerly s. to France, Corsica, the Balkan States, Greece, sw. Alaska (w. Aleutians, Attu).
