Range
C. Asia;
Ex. restricted breeding range;
Breeding grounds are unknown, but may be near Tara, n. of Omsk in c. Siberia (Altai) or from sw. Siberia, n. Kazakhstan to e. Iran.
Migrates through and occasionally reported from Italy, Albania, Greece, Bulgaria (Poda Lagoon), Romania (Danube Delta), Hungary (Hortobagy National Park), Greece (Evrotas Delta), Crete and unconfirmed reports from Spain (Donana).
Winters in the Mediterranean region in s. Italy and nw. Africa (Merja Zerga, Morocco).
