Range

Pacific coast of cw. South America and adjacent waters;
Breeds from n. Peru (Lobos de Tierra Is. off Lambayeque) s. to c. Chile (Coquimbo, Santigo del Norte and offshore from Mejillones Bay).
Wanders as far s. as Valdiva, Chile s. to 40° S., but virtually nothing is known about its movements at sea.
