New Guinea, ex. ne. Australia and associated is.;
Two main populations;
(1) W. Papuan Is. and nw. to se. New Guinea.
(2) N. New Guinea and Yapen Is.
(3) Misool and Aru Is., s. New Guinea and ne. Australia (Queensland, n. Cape York Peninsula in Iron Range National Park, Portland Road).
Introduced to the Kai Is.
