S. Central America and n. South America. E. South America;
Two populations;
(1) Ex. s. Mexico, e. Guatemala and possibly e. Honduras.
(2) Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, n. and e. Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, Guiana and mostly e. of the Andes in e. Ecuador, e. Peru, e. Bolivia, Amazonian Brazil and Paraguay. Atlantic forest of se. Brazil (se. Bahia).
