Range
Sahael zone of Africa and sw. Arabia;
N. Senegambia, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Chad, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Yemen, Kenya and possibly Uganda. Occurs from s. Mauritania, s. Mali, Sendgambia, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, s. Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, c. Chad, c. Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia and sw. Arabia (Yemen) s. in Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Congo, Cabinda, Zaire, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and n. Tanzania.
Winters in the rain forests of West Africa.
